What to do if the powder rate on the metal surface is poor
The problem of poor powder coating rate in metal surface treatment is usually caused by spraying equipment, process parameters, or workpiece status. The following you can find some common reasons and solutions:
1. Powder coating spray gun or electrostatic powder coating equipment problem:
Spray gun malfunction: Check if the high-voltage cascade, circuit board, spray nozzles,powder injectors and other components are damaged, pelase replace the spray gun ,spare parts or controller if necessary.
Mismatch of spray gun parameters: Adjust parameters such as voltage, current, and powder output according to the type of workpiece. It is recommended to use an advanced spray gun with program storage function to avoid manual adjustment errors.
Improper distance of spray gun: Adjust the distance between the spray gun and the workpiece to a reasonable range (usually recommended 15-30 centimeters)
Use high quality powder coating guns such as gema,wagner or nordson powder spray paint guns and spare parts.
2.Powder or workpiece issues:
Powder moisture/high specific gravity: Avoid using damp powder, and if using enamel powder, address its specific gravity issue in advance.
Poor grounding of workpiece: Clean the residual powder at the contact point of the hanging fixture to ensure good grounding.
Improper surface treatment of workpiece: Check the oil and rust removal effect, prioritize the use of alkaline chemical oil removal method to ensure that the surface is clean and free of oil stains
3.Process environment issues
Abnormal wind speed in the spray booth: Rectify the structure of the spray booth to ensure that the internal wind speed meets the design requirements.
Automatic spray gun angle deviation: unify the hanging direction of the workpiece, adjust the installation angle and quantity of the spray gun.
Other precautions
Regularly clean the powder accumulation of the spray gun to ensure the fluidization effect of the powder and avoid uneven powder discharge due to blockage
